How do I dispose of paint?

Latex paint cans go out on your trash day. The cans MUST be dried out. Residents with the rear load service should place the dried out latex paint cans next to your trash with the lid off. Residents with the automated trash service may place dried out latex paint cans in your trash cart. (Kitty litter can be poured in to dry out the paint)  For disposal of all other types of paint and stains, please call Camden County Household Special Waste at 856-858-5241. Where can I take items that Township can not collect? (Construction debris, tree stumps etc.)

Pennsauken Landfill, 9600 River Road, Pennsauken, NJ. Call them at 856-663-2772 for weight limits and fees.


Where can I take hazardous waste items that the Township can not collect?

Call Camden County Household Special Waste at 856-858-5241 for a list of drop off dates and times.


How do I dispose of ammunition and fireworks?

Call the Voorhees Police Station at 856-428-5400 for proper disposal. DO NOT put any type of ammunition and/or fireworks in your trash. This is an EXTREME HAZARD. If these items hit the blades inside the trash trucks, they will come shooting out and hit the workmen and/or bystanders. DO NOT PUT IN WITH YOUR TRASH!!


How do I dispose of medical waste?

Hypodermic needles MUST be placed in a secured metal container and put in your household trash. If you need a container call any area hospital for one.


How can I get a yellow recycling bucket?

Call the Public Works Department at 856-428-3136 with the address and a bucket will be delivered.


Whom do I call if a street light is out?

Please, call your electric company. The electric company will need the location and nearest cross street for reference in locating the light.

May I reserve a park or field for an event?

Yes. Call the Public Works Department at 856-428-5499 for an application.


Where do I pay my sewer bill?

Call The Voorhees Township Tax Collector's Office at 856-429-7762 or mail payment to Voorhees Township, Tax Collector Office, 620 Berlin Road, Voorhees, NJ 08043


What are the colored flags and paint marks that utility companies put at my house?

All utility companies in New Jersey are required to mark any underground lines. It means someone plans to dig in the area in the next few days.
